Depending on how you see me, I'm either an early adopter, or tech laggard, or anything in between.
So that was the case when I adopted Apple's Safari web browser some two months back. Before that, I've been loyal to Firefox. In fact, I've been on Firefox since maybe 2005 and never looked back...Until Apple finally releases the gem of all web browsers to the PC platform.
Being a Apple freak, I was quick to give it a try. Apple's simplistic view (which sometimes felt dumbdown for PC users) is not a problem with me. That said, Safari was a sleek, easygoing browser. It has got everything offered by any other web browsers (who doesn't these days?). But the lack of customization options and sore bookmarking means that Safari would be temporary. Besides, I'm not going to wait for every September for a feature upgrade or new stuff (Apple comes out with new products during this period).
So now, I'm back to Firefox. Firefox 3.0 specifically. For the start, you get the usual features with the add-ons and security, but now it has also improved on several of its navigational layouts which I find very thoughtful. For example, the appearance is much cleaner and changes with different operating systems. The bookmark window and the add-on window has been revamped too. All in all, it feels good for an old remedy.
Still using boring unimaginative MS IE?
