Reporting From Penang (BM)

After sitting duck for 2 days in my house, i'm out for a little banking business and a bit of online (my primitive house doesn't have broadband).

Penang, or rather Bukit Mertajam, hasn't change much since my last visit five months ago. Some subtle makeovers here and there, and of course, more cars. One little surprise was finding Rapid buses on the road here, aptly named Rapid Penang. Not to complain, i actually felt that's kind of a good thing for the transport business here. Hell, i hope Rapid would turn the other bus companies out of business and monopolize the scene.

Penang's transportation is awkward. There's too many companies vying for an already small piece of pie. Not just that, the service was terrible. For most of my life here, i never knew the exact time, destination and codes of the buses. So, the appearance of Rapid in Penang i truly hope is a relief for the transportation service here. Lets see if they can do the same for the taxi/cab business too.
